What an afternoon

Wow were we ever busy after school today. Made a quick dash home right after getting kids so they could brush their teeth. Then off to the dentist for their cleanings. Steph has a cavitiy that needs filled. Then we stopped by Hobby Lobby to get my mom some things on sale she requested. Dropped books off to the library before the predicted snow storm, Eureka pizza for dinner. Walgreens to pick up a prescription. Where I remembered to take a photo for today. I guess everyone was trying to get last minute refills we had a wait. About 6:30 or so we finally got home for the night.

Yummy Dinner

I directed Steph tonight & she made our dinner. Taco Soup in the crockpot. I got this recipe from an ex boss & we love it. Ground Beef (I brown mine ahead of time & place in freezer....makes prep time quicker). Taco Seasoning, canned beans (pinto & kidney don't drain), salsa (we blend ours w/ tomatoes). Can of diced tomatoes. You can add corn or anything else you'd like. Just toss everything in crockpot till warm & top w/ shredded cheese & enjoy with tortilla chips.

Beautiful Day

The 70 degree day today was wonderful. Also was wonderful seeing my cousin, Mandi, her boys, & my aunt, Brenda, that I don't see nearly as often as I'd like. Mandi is hidden in back (putting the baby in his carseat).

Interstate Driving

We had a busy day after school on Friday. After picking up both kiddos we picked up a card for Steph's prescription from the dermatologist. Across the street to the Toyota dealership for the courtesy car washes they offer on Friday & Saturdays. Then we headed just down the road to Krispy Kreme for a couple free donuts the kids had coupons for. Steph drove us home. I gave her the option of 71B or the interstate & she choose the interstate. She has driven on the interstate a couple times before so this wasn't the first time.

Nothing today....(updated)

Okay I forgot about Logan's doctor appt today. She said it looks like it might be infected a little bit or could be impetigo because of the injury to the skin. For a precaution she put him on antibotics & an impetigo cream. He wasn't to keen on swallowing a pill so that's why there is 3 bottles of liquid. I'm glad he likes the taste because it smells gross to me.

I guess nothing major happened today or I forgot to get a photo. So I'll borrow one of Steph's for today :) Thanks Steph for "building" a great snowman during the last snow. I tell ya, she's a great artist. She will draw with anything. Paper/pencil, sand/shovel handle, or even snow/stick.

Really Red

So here it is 21 days after Logan fell. You can see how red it still is. He is getting little pimples that are coming up that won't go away in those spots too. I think I probably need to make a doctor appt to make sure all is healing okay.

Car Rider Lines

Since I posted a photo of Logan being picked up the other day I figured it'd only be fair to show what happens right after he gets picked up. Notice Steph walking on the right? The traffic at the High School is insane, but it seems to clear out quick.

Play Time

Steph came home after school & decided to kick around a ball for a bit. I sent Logan out to snap a photo of her for me. He must not know what an action shot is :)

Finished

I just finished reading this book. It was pretty good, started off great. Took awhile to get into it after the "murder", but I finally did.

Enticement

I had to "entice" my mom to come over Saturday. It wasn't all for selfish reasons she did need some bling from Hobby Lobby. Plus my dad's cell phone was messed up & we ended up getting that traded out at the repair/warranty center. It was nice seeing her & running around for a couple hours.

Snow Angel

(borrowing a photo from yesterday) Which child do you think made this snow angel? If you said Stephanie, you are wrong. She didn't have gloves & was not cooperating w/ her Mama-razzi. So I asked Logan to make one. He did a fabulous job I think. I wanted to put a halo on it, but knew I'd mess it up if I tried. Friday is our 3rd snow day of the school year.

Snow Day

This is our 2nd snow day of the school year.
The kids asked to go play in the snow, but sure don't look happy about having to wait for their Mama-razzi to get a picture of them do they?

Love this stuff

WD-40 is my new best friend. Our garage door has been sticking in cold weather. It will only open about 2 inches then stop. You have to push the button again to make the door start going down then click again (real fast) to stop the door. Click again to start door up past the "stick" part. It will stop about 4 times in a matter of a foot. So annoying when you reach the last "stick" & miss clicking fast enough & it will go all the way shut & you have to start over. I have WD-40'd the side tracks & it didn't help. We had this problem before & I'd fixed it by spraying the tracks. I was thinking that maybe the door was just on it's last leg. Then I remembered that I also sprayed the middle track. WA-LAAAAAA we have a winner!!! All is fixed & life is much easier now.

Cool Clouds

I'm sure these clouds have a more technical name other than "Cool". I'd bet it has something to do with a system moving in, but I'm no meterologist so I have no clue. Click the picture & you can see more detail.

Our Mondays

Just about every Monday we head to Eureka Pizza after picking Steph up from school. They have a special on Mondays & so we do pizza for dinner.

Scrapbooking

I belong to a monthly scrapbook club. I choose the theme of the kit I get each month. That said I have a year long supply of kits from last year. I have gotten into the scrapbooking mood big time here lately. I've done a beach kit, Christmas kit from 2009, & the Christmas kit from 2010. These pages are calling for the photos our little elf, Hadlley, & him changing the lightbulbs to green his last day with us this Christmas. It's my favorite pages of the kits I've finished so far. Excuse the mess on the table. I plan on getting the photos on the layouts today so why put everything up till I'm done with that. Good excuse for not cleaning huh? :0

New Years Resolutions

Retha & I made a New Years Resolution to scrapbook at least once per month. We've had this same resoultion for the last couple years & it never worked. However this year so far for one month we have done it.
My best friend, Pam, invited us to her house to scrapbook & get in on the scrapbook fun. While sitting there she looked up & spotted an armadillo in her yard. I don't think I've ever seen a live armadillo before. It let us walk right up to it & take photos.

Happy Hour

On Fridays if Logan has been doing everything he is suspose to do at school for the week he earns him & Steph a Sonic drink after school.
Most Fridays he earns them a drink :)

Grand Jury

Chris had to go testify in front of the Grand Jury in Ft. Smith today. So I had to snap a photo of him all dressed up. Especially since he wore my fave tie/shirt. He has to do this all the time for work so it isn't as bad as it seems :) He's used to it.

VII

This morning when I got to work the thermometer in the car said 7. Chris said his was 1. My car was in the garage & it was probably still going lower however I couldn't just sit in the parking lot waiting for it to drop lower. I only have a one minute car drive to get to work so the heater wasn't real warm & it was 7 degrees (possibly lower) not even adding into account wind chills.

Free Stuff

I was surprised by a large box in the mailbox today. I sign up for free stuff all the time so figured it was something I'd forgotten about. However the letter stated it was from Tide & being a fan of facebook & being one of the first 5000 signups for the give-a-way. Since I'm not a "facebooker" I didn't really know what was going on. Retha calls a bit later & tells me she signed me up for the Tide Stain Release. What a nice mother-in-law I have! She also reminded me of the Bath & Body Works LUV CLUB we signed up for & today was the first give-a-way for it. A full size soap, pocket hand sanitizer & a holder for it (we got to pick what scent). All in all it was a great day for free stuff.

Floor 1 Logan 0

So this morning turned out to be not so normal of a morning for Logan. Chris was waking up Steph & Logan goes down the hall. He got dizzy, raised up his arms & tripped. He has major carpet burn on his face under his nose & on his chin. Not sure how he didn't hit his nose. He doesn't want me to post the picture I took. If he changes his mind I will add it. So even though I don't have a picture for today, I still had to post this mishap.

6 months

Today is Chris's 6 month anniversary of being a non smoker. I used my Big Top Cupcake Maker I got for Christmas & made his fave cake, yellow cake w/ chocolate icing. His parents & brother came over to enjoy the cake w/ us.

Back to School & Work

The kids & I had 2 full weeks off for the Christmas break. Chris took vacation the last week. It was nice getting to hang out & relax for the week since we didn't have any plans to do anything. I snapped this photo of Logan as he walked to the car this afternoon.

Junk Drawers

I've been working on decluttering the junk drawers in the kitchen & fixing the broken tracks the last couple days. Chris had to help with a couple of the repairs. One joy of having an older home is that sometimes it is harder to find the size of things you need. For example the length of the track. Chris's dad helped him saw of the extra bit & then the old roller of course was to big for the new track. At least we could use the old roller on the other broken drawer since that was the piece that was missing on it. It's nice they are all working correctly now.

Ringing in 2011

Every year for as long as I can remember we go to Chris's parents on New Years Eve to ring in the new year. We have a yummy dinner (pulled pork sandwiches this time) & play games til it's time to watch the ball drop in New York. Then it's a matter of staying awake for another hour. Steph's not in the photo because she's behind the camera.
